Cambridgeshire Cricket Ltd and Maiden Cricket launch three-year partnership - April 2026

Cambridgeshire Cricket Ltd is pleased to announce a new three-year partnership with Maiden Cricket Clothing Ltd, marking a clear intent to enhance and grow women's and girls' cricket across the county.

This exciting collaboration is rooted in a shared commitment to ensure that women and girls feel fully accepted, supported, and integral to the cricket community.

As part of the agreement, the Cambridgeshire Girls’ League will be rebranded as the Cambridgeshire Maiden Cricket Girls’ League for the duration of the partnership. This reflects an aligned vision to inspire greater participation and raise the profile of the girls’ game throughout the county in our clubs, schools and community. In addition, Maiden Cricket will become the named sponsor for the Women’s and Girls’ development category in the Cambridgeshire Winter Wonder Awards, reinforcing both companies' desire to champion, recognise and celebrate those developing the Women's and girls' game. This is only the beginning of what the partnership will deliver.

Cambridgeshire Cricket sees this partnership as a natural alignment with Maiden Cricket’s ethos, one that champions inclusivity and strives to ensure that women and girls no longer feel like outsiders on the cricket field. Both organisations recognise the vital role that clothing and kit play in shaping positive experiences of female players.

Maiden Cricket’s philosophy centres on designing cricket apparel specifically for the female body. By prioritising comfort, fit, and functionality, their kit enables players to perform at their best, allowing women and girls to play with confidence and freedom.

This shared understanding underscores the partnership’s broader ambition: to remove barriers to participation and create an environment where every female player feels they belong.

Russell Doel, Director & Head of Cricket Operations at Cambridgeshire Cricket commented:

"We are really excited about this partnership with Maiden Cricket. Their dedication to supporting the women’s and girls’ game aligns perfectly with our own vision for the future of cricket in Cambridgeshire. To grow participation, enhance player experience, and ensure that everyone involved in the game feels valued and included."

Maiden Cricket is a purpose-driven, grassroots-first sportswear brand redefining cricket for girls and women. Founded in 2024 by teenage sisters Honor and Cat Black after frustration with ill-fitting boys’ kit and a lack of representation in the women’s game, Maiden designs purpose-built clothing, teamwear and equipment specifically for female cricketers — kit that fits, performs and empowers. In just two years, they have made huge waves in the sport, proving immensely popular with clubs, schools and individuals. Their ambassador programme has already enlisted an army of over 250 women and girls, and continues to grow daily - a visible, connected community of players, role models and advocates driving real change at grassroots level.

Honor Black, Founder of Maiden Cricket said:

“At Maiden, we are more than just a kit supplier; we’re on a mission to build confidence in girls, to create a community of cricket loving fans and build real progress at grassroots level and that’s why partnerships like this with Cambridgeshire Cricket are so important. They have a very high standard of the game across the region which we are very excited to support and develop. Our aim has always been to encourage more and more women and girls to play and love cricket and to feel their best while on the field.”

As part of the partnership, Cambridgeshire Cricket will promote Maiden’s ever-growing ambassador community to individuals and clubs passionate about contributing to the future of women’s and girls’ cricket. Maiden will also support the county with other roles in cricket including Umpires and  offer tailored packages to schools and clubs across the region.

Together, Maiden and Cambridgeshire Cricket are not just playing the game. They’re changing it.
