Maiden Ambassador Ekil Latifi, wicketkeeper-batter for the Afghan Refugee Women's XI, spoke to Wisden about the team's recent tour of England -the first time in years she'd been reunited with teammates she hadn't seen since leaving Afghanistan.
The tour included matches against UK sides, a meeting with King Charles III, and attending the Women's T20 World Cup Final at Lord's. Latifi described the responsibility she feels representing Afghan women who no longer have the freedom to play sport under the Taliban's ban, and said she hopes to one day officially represent Afghanistan on the international stage.
She's also an ambassador for Maiden, which has supported the team's tour with kit sized properly for women, rather than adapted men's gear.
