Cat and Honor Black started playing cricket aged six at Barnes Cricket Club in London - Honor the only girl among around 30 boys. After the family moved to West Sussex, the girls' school offered no cricket for girls; they eventually won a dedicated girls' team after persistence and results. Fed up with hand-me-down and ill-fitting boys' kit, the sisters founded Maiden in 2024 to design cricket clothing and equipment specifically for women and girls.
