Ava Mainwaring

Ava

Wicketkeeper, Mid-order Bowler and Batter, Club and County Cricket, Maelor School, Wrexham

Ava has been playing cricket for six years and is already a standout player, excelling in both the batting and bowling departments. As the captain of the Shropshire County Team, Ava leads by example with her versatility as a wicketkeeper, mid-order bowler, and batter. She represents both her county and club (Frankton and Allscott Heath) with great pride and determination.

On the pitch, Ava is sharp behind the stumps, confident with the bat, and aggressive with the ball. Her leadership skills shine both on and off the field, and she is known for staying calm under pressure, helping to inspire her team to perform at their best.

Her ambition is clear, she aims to represent her country in cricket when she’s older, and she’s already setting the stage with her county involvement and leadership.

Ava joined Maiden because she is passionate about girls' cricket and wants to show how much fun the game is. She believes in the importance of giving girls the opportunity to play and feels strongly about the need for kit specifically designed for them. Ava is excited to help promote Maiden’s mission and raise awareness for the importance of proper equipment and support for girls in sport.
