What is your favourite aspect of the game?
Bowling, fielding and the social aspect
How did you first get involved with Maiden Cricket?
After winning the ECB Rising Star Award my mum saw an advert for Maiden Cricket on Instagram and emailed to enquire about how to be an ambassador.
What does being an Ambassador mean to you?
Being an ambassador means that I can share with other women and girls what the company has to offer in their selection of clothing and equipment. I enjoy that I can have access to webinars with cricket professionals which feels personal. I like how much consideration has gone into the design of the shorts and trousers and that we can share our thoughts.
What have you enjoyed the most about being an Ambassador?
The links I have made with people from Maiden Cricket and the opportunities of meeting new people both virtually and in person.
What do you love the most about the Maiden kit? Which is your favourite piece and why?
I love how they have considered the needs of girls and women and incorporated it into the kit subtly. My favourite piece is the Century Zipper because of the lovely soft material and the pockets.
Who is your favourite player?
Charlotte Mandale - our club chairperson of the club. She always bring positivity to the pitch and encourages me and gives good support.
Do you have a role model who has influenced you, or changed the way you see the game?
Barry Knight - our club’s Saturday 2s men’s captain. He has embraced the woman and juniors into the Saturday league game and encouraged and accepted us all into the team.
What advice would you like to pass on to anyone reading this?
Being part of cricketing community gives you another family who support you and can share your passion for the game. It’s not just a game, it’s lifestyle!
Looking back, is there a moment in your cricket journey that you're especially proud of?
Over this last year I have had several moments including, playing my first men’s Saturday match, winning the Dorset County Cricket Collective Rising Star award and then achieving the ECB Rising Star Cricket Collective Award.
