How old were you when you first started playing cricket?
11
How did you get into playing?
Inspired by my brother and father
What is your favourite aspect of the game?
I personally love the social aspect of the game as well as fielding in game. Its great to be able to play a team game where you can communicate with different people to learn and understand the game as well as the community more!
How did you first get involved with Maiden Cricket?
I saw them online and was interested from their social media
What does being an Ambassador mean to you?
Being an ambassador means that I can inspire and guide other girls playing and encourage them to proudly take up the sport and feel comfortable while playing it. Cricket is a long and interesting game so the more girls can get involved the better our community.
What have you enjoyed the most about being an Ambassador?
I have loved the opportunities to give back to others and speak out using my voice about girl’s kit and the environment during games especially when playing with those of the opposite gender.
What do you love the most about the Maiden kit? Which is your favourite piece and why?
I love how the kit is flexible and breathable. When I play in it, I feel comfortable, free and confident knowing I can perform my best and not worry at all about my cricket kit. My favourite piece is definitely the mid-on top as I think it is equally stylish and comfortable!
Who is your favourite player?
My favourite player currently is Davina Perrin
Do you have a role model who has influenced you, or changed the way you see the game?
Yes, Cordelia Griffith and Davina Perrin both inspire me to be fearless in my games and take my best mindset forward. They both present themselves as free and confident which I love in the cricket atmosphere.
What advice would you like to pass on to anyone reading this?
My advice is no matter what happens, if you have a passion then go for it. Wasted potential and talent in life is one of people’s biggest regrets. So even if you aren’t too sure about trying something new, go ahead and do it anyway as you won’t lose out and it could open up many different paths for your future!
Looking back, is there a moment in your cricket journey that you're especially proud of?
I am proud of when I first got picked for my regional EPP side as I had worked extremely hard to nail my drills and improve myself not only as a player but also as a person. I have now been part of the team for 2 years.
