Ekil
Top Order Batter and Part Time Seam Bowler
Ekil has been playing cricket for nine years and brings determination and resilience to the game as a top order batter and part time seam bowler. She plays for Bexley Cricket Club, MCC and NACC, and represents Kent, alongside competing for the Afghan women’s refugee team.
One of Ekil’s most powerful achievements has been being selected for the Afghan women’s national team and representing the Afghan women’s refugee team in India. These experiences have shaped both her cricket journey and her purpose within the game.
Her goal is to one day play for the Afghan women’s team under her national flag and to become a professional cricketer. Ekil is motivated by more than personal success. She wants to encourage girls like her to play cricket and to show them that hope, opportunity and belonging are possible through sport.
Courageous and inspiring, Ekil represents the strength of women’s cricket and the impact the game can have far beyond the boundary.
